"The New Urbanism"
...is one of the hottest markets in Central Texas today. With developers in downtown Austin building high rise condos as fast as they can find available land. Reviving the area with high density living space, near the UT campus, State Capital, Convention Center, Lady Bird Lake, offices, nightlife, and shopping. Increasing the areas population and in turn boosting the downtown economy. Many are choosing to acquire one of these high rise luxury lofts with the accompanying lifestyle.

But as Austin continues the climb further up the population scale, many more are distancing themselves for a more peaceful existence in the suburbs and surrounding towns. Yet remaining close enough to Austin to maintain their business contacts and industry profile.

This has been one of the main contributing factors responsible for the revitalization of many of the smaller towns in the immediate area. The ever expanding growth patterns bring with it new business opportunities for startups, relocation, or expansion into new markets. Creating jobs, lessoning commutes, and improving the small town economies.

"The New Urbanism", in an old setting....
Many of the Austin escapees are not shunning the thought of downtown loft living, on the contrary, the problem is only the location. With many of the surrounding towns having a wealth of commercial properties available, and the proper ordinances already in place, creates a whole new type of "The New Urbanism" lifestyle...Live / Work. The thoughts of a minimum commute and gasoline bill are fueling the revitalisation, remodel, retrofit, and restoration of the century old downtown buildings in the outlying areas. Walking through a door in your home into your place of business is an appealing thought. Many retiring Baby Boomers are also finding this type of property attractive for a sound investment, income stream, flexibility, and minimizing concerns while traveling.
"The New Urbanism" it's not really all that new!
